Fox Mill 6th Grade Promotion Ceremony
Fox Mill families are invited to celebrate our 6th graders as they complete elementary school and prepare for middle school.
The Fox Mill 6th Grade Promotion Ceremony will take place on Friday, June 12. For families who are new to this tradition, promotion is similar to a 6th grade graduation ceremony. It is a special moment for students, families, and teachers to recognize the end of elementary school and celebrate the students’ next chapter.
Due to space limitations, each student will receive four tickets total, distributed by the school. Students with split homes will receive two envelopes to help with ticket distribution, but the total remains four tickets per student.
Guest Tickets and Seating
Each student will receive four tickets total from the school. These four tickets cover all guests attending the ceremony, including parents, guardians, grandparents, and any other guests.
Students with split homes will receive two envelopes to help with ticket distribution between households. This does not increase the total number of tickets. Each student will still receive a total of four tickets.
Siblings who currently attend Fox Mill will not be dismissed from class to attend the ceremony. Please plan accordingly.
Seating in the cafeteria is limited. Some guests may need to stand in the back of the cafeteria during the ceremony.
What Students Should Wear
Students may wear normal school-appropriate attire. Many students choose to dress up for promotion, and many families do as well. While there is no formal dress code beyond normal school expectations, this is a special ceremony, so students are encouraged to look nice and feel comfortable.
Reception After the Ceremony
After the ceremony in the cafeteria, students and families will be invited to the gym for a brief reception with light refreshments.
The reception will include drinks, light snacks, and time for families and students to take photos together before the school year officially wraps up.
Photo Areas
Families will have an opportunity to take photos after the ceremony. We plan to have at least one photo area or backdrop available during the reception so students can take pictures with family members and friends.
Promotion Slideshow: Photos Needed
We are planning to run a slideshow during the reception and would love photo submissions from families.
We are looking for three types of photos for each student:
- A baby photo
- A kindergarten or early elementary photo
- A current photo
Please send slideshow photos to: Add photo submission email here
Volunteers Needed
We need family volunteers to help with setup and event support. Setup will take place on Thursday, June 11, and the promotion ceremony will take place on Friday, June 12.
